Exciting news from IMIDG DESIGN HQ: our Chief Design Officer, Ian Mackie, has started up his own photography sideline business!
Ian has always had an interest in photography, architecture and interior design, so has recently made the leap by combining all of these passions into a new business – Ian Mackie, Architectural Photography.
IMIDG DESIGN were tasked with creating a brand, stationery and website for him, which was a new challenge as we are usually asked to develop brands for companies that we aren’t initially familiar with. As it turns out, this was one of the easiest projects to create, and the brand was done very quickly. A new, responsive website was coded and filled with examples of Ian’s work. Ian wrote his content copy himself, to give it a personal flavour. Take a look: ianjmackie.com
Digital design to make an impression
Specialising in architectural photography and covering exterior, interior and architectural details, as well as other photography, Ian is very happy with the website. It not only provides an excellent online portfolio for him to showcase his work, but it also allows him to blog on the subject too. Expect in-depth behind the scenes tutorials from him in the near future.
Branding to be recognised
As for the brand mark, Ian wanted something dynamic and playful – he doesn’t take himself too seriously! – so we developed a camera outline based on an organic shape found in modern architectural buildings. Four of the same shape were tweaked to produce the camera outline, and we added a round lens shape to finish it off. Colours were applied, and overlaid to create a pleasing and eye catching result. The logo can be outlined – or changed to be all one colour – for watermarking or other purposes. We’ve highlighted the branding and website in our portfolio section.
We’ll leave the final words to Ian himself:
Similar to the work of architects and designers, my photography is a custom service that is tailored to my clients needs. No matter the job, I strive to deliver consistently high quality images. I’m looking forward to working with clients within the architecture and architectural products industry, alongside interior designers, commercial spaces, estate agencies and the hospitality industry. Contact me today, and let’s work together to create some amazing images for beautiful spaces.
